Come to Zion

Last week Nathan finished his first year of teaching (!) and now has eight weeks of summer break to look forward to. I'm unsuccessfully trying to rein in my jealousy.

To celebrate this accomplishment and to capitalize on the long weekend we made the drive up to Utah. In all honesty, I almost wish we hadn't because then I wouldn't have realized so acutely how Phoenix is a hideous, barren, sweat factory in the summer, and that it looks like an armpit compared to The Motherland.
Too much?

Look at those mountains! 75 degrees! Zion does not disappoint.

Happily fulfilling Memorial Day traditions.

After hiking through mud and snow, we made it to the prize at the end of the trail. Credit to Nathan for not letting us turn back on the slippery parts and to the little kid who told me to not be such a scaredy-cat.  Also, shout out to our gracious Provo hostess in the middle.

Loved hanging out with all our Utah family and just basking in the glory that is Zion!

  1. Girl, I think that Arizona heating is really getting to you. This whole Utah-is-beautiful business is cray. You need to make a trip to Seattle, stat.
